Installed Raptor lights, unsure about IGN3 fuse

I just purchased my first 4 Runner and I LOVE it!
One of our kids gave me a set of Seven Sparta 4-piece raptor lights and I installed them by tapping into the IGN3 fuse in the cabin under the emergency brake. I have seen a few different threads in regard to installing these, but I haven't found a clear answer as to what is the best fuse to tap into to have the lights on when the truck is running. I'm also aware that not everyone is a fan of these lights, but I personally think they look pretty cool! Regardless, am I alright tapping into that IGN3 fuse? The lights came with a 15a fuse and the IGN3 is a 10a... I pulled the 10a and plugged it in the tap and have the 10a closest to the fuse box. From what I understand these lights pull minimal power. They are working fine now, but I want to make sure I don't have any issues down the road. Am I safe the way I hooked these up?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated

Welcome. If using the inside fuses, i would probably use the seat heater spot or something that won't disable the truck if popped. Just me. But what you described is not causing an issue at all.

And yes the add a fuse connector...the original fuse goes on bottom

    Thanks man!
From what I've seen, the fuse boxes appear to be different from year to year. I'll take a look for the seat heater spot tomorrow. After all of the stuff I've read, I'm a little paranoid about frying something!
    Thanks again

No worries that's what the fuses are preventing. Was just meaning to pick something that if a fuse blows your truck will still be running. Like the radio fuse, seat heater, power socket, etc

The fuse is there to blow before you fry anything

I appreciate all of the help here. Any of those fuses will give power when the truck is running?
Here's another stupid question for you... someone mentioned tapping into the ACC7.5. How would that work with the 15a that came with the connector since the lights only pull a few amps?

No worries dude. The stupid question is the one not asked. The ACC would be fine also. You fuse block puts out the same power to all the fuse ports. Just some on all the time and some on when the truck is on. The fuse value is only for the circuit and a fuse tap won't hurt that. Just use the 7.5 on the bottom and your 15 for the lights on top on your golden. If the either blow nothing will work but just change it and move along.

Beautiful! I'll change this shit first thing in the morning. I feel more comfortable after your recommendations... I'm definitely not an electrical guy.
    I really appreciate the tips!

Use the KDSS fuse if you don’t have KDSS. It is powered on by accessory. Also, I have noticed just about all the install videos I’ve seen using an add a fuse have installed them backwards.

Nice! Kinda close. I live in Morningside off of Old Monroe Rd. The area that’s getting all torn apart by the widening project now.

I don't use any of the factory fuses for my stuff including raptor lights.

I use the power from behind the 12v cigarette lighter to trigger the relay that I use for my raptor lights. Power is getting directly from the battery that is wires with a fuse.

A rough drawing how I did.
    upload_2024-1-14_8-38-11.png

Why am I so scared messing with factory fuses from the beginning?
Care care Nut posted a video last week a Tacoma owner accidentally burned the inside fuse board messing with aftermarket accessory. This is why I use my own relays, correct fuses, etc.. I use a multi meter to measure.

    upload_2024-1-14_8-45-49.png

Is raptor sty lights so important to me?
Yes, I no more have DRLs. So the white "raptor lights" are my DRLs.

I use the Tail light fuse. That way they are on when I turn the lights on, NOT when the truck is running.

    Hey OP @Bubba1
    Great questions, great answers here.
A year or two ago I was just like where you're at now, today I'm getting ready to add my 5th and 6th set of offroad lights, and I'm still a little nervous and forgetful.
So these answers have really helped me as well.
Like they said the fuses are there to prevent you from damaging things, worst that can happen is you blow a fuse or two and they need to be replaced to restore that specific fuse box function.

I like to buy all in one wiring harnesses w/ built in relays and inline fuses, and an illuminated rocker switch. 12v energized directly off battery. So yes you can drain your battery if you forget a light on, but don't need to have my keys in ignition or even near the vehicle to use my lighting.

My dashcam parking mode is the only thing powers without ignition. That line from battery have this low voltage cutoff.
