I have a 2008 4 runner with 150k on it. It just started a buzzing sound coming from middle of dash maybe a bit lower. It comes on when I start the truck and persists for 20 secs maybe less....come on again once or twice but always within a few minutes of starting the truck. After a few minutes it stops and doesn't do it again till truck is shut off and sits a few minutes. Any ideas on what it could be?

I think that's normal, my 2016 does it. It's like a high pitch sound

Most likely the HVAC actuator for the damper door, above and left of the glove box, sound seemed to be in center of truck but after pulling out console, and hvac/radio I finally found it! Not everytime, but I drove it over two days all taken apart, getting closer and closer till i found it. One of the other 4runner sites actually has a wave file of the sound and it turned out to be the same issue. see my post there to fix.
