Installed a set of hub centric wheels (HSW) along with 1.5 in. spacers.

The wheels came with plastic rings for centering on the axle but I did not install them because the axle does not protrude past the spacers.

The test drive after install revealed a slight knocking on the front that you can feel in the steering wheel. It's not horrible, but it's a problem that must get fixed obviously before driving.

I'm going to remove the wheels this morning and dive into solving the "knock". I think it's related to the HSW not having the centering rings but we will see. The rear wheels are smooth as butter, just the front creating noise.

I'll post finding with pics as I progress. Any information or assistance is appreciated as always.

You must mean lug centric. Hub centric is what your vehicle is designed for and what come on all of our 4runners. I learned my lesson on my Tacoma when I had a little vibe after I purchased some lug centric wheels. I ended up selling them and just getting some hub centric wheels and it was smooth as butter again. All it takes is for one lug nut to be tightened a little tighter than the other and you get vibes.

What size spacers did you install? Do the spacers have a hubcentric ring on them? If not you need different spacers. Flat faced spacers will give you nothing but headaches. The spacers should match up to the hub on your vehicle and then the spacers themselves should have a ring themselves so that everything is perfectly aligned.

    1.5 inch spacers

I haven't been out to the garage yet, but I just ordered a set of hub centric spacers. Gonna ditch the flat faced ones regardless.

Good idea! When I was younger I put some flat faced spacers on my car at the time and ruined a set of tires in a month. Was a lesson hard learned. If you can I would go ahead and pull the spacers off until your new spacers arrive, don’t forget that ring! Also ensure that the ring that came with the wheels is the correct size for your wheels and new spacers to match up to your hub all must be a perfect fit.

So the rings are irrelevant if the hub size matches. Lol.

Still betting it was the lipless spacers

    Stance minus 1.5 inches.

She's gonna tell you those 1.5 don't matter. Right?

Well.....nvm. I think I'm going to roll spacerless.

    Still looks good IMO.

I think it looks good and it will keep you from throwing so much crap onto the body.
The inside diameter of the wheels may be larger and the ring helps them to mate up to the diameter of the hub.

    His spacers weren’t hub centric.
