Yes it is, but it's a rather mild one. When they get bad, cars leave tracks on black asphalt much the same as they would with a dusting of snow. Pun, not intended:(

Not just windshields. It'll scalp an entire front end in nothing flat.

We get those 2 to 3 times a year, and as the Salton Sea continues to evaporate, they're becoming more frequent and severe. Only difference, the Sea dust is white silt.

You would be amazed. Every few weeks we wash the cooling fins of the A/C unit because it will plug them up. I could go through a laundry list, but won't.........lol

This time of year with the pollen, as little as possible as it's a losing battle. You just have to accept that you'll be driving a greenish yellow vehicle for roughly 30 days. :smack:
That dust storm looks like it'd be a PITA to deal with as you're likely stuck cleaning everything from your vehicles, house etc.

Pretty much..... such is life in The Skillet.

You brought back an old memory. Tahoe a few years back. Pine trees decided to let loose with pollen..........I had never, and hope to never again.

My dark blue car here in Norcal is a neon green.

I was reading environmental reports that as the Salton Sea evaporates, there are contaminants at the bottom which will get whipped up by the dust storms and essentially poison everybody in the inland empire area.

As a DD, there are different levels of wash. Power wash (no touch) for the dust pollen and such. Power and two bucket wash, with interior vacuum and glass. Full wash, dewax, decon, paint correction, coating (trim, rims, glass, rubber). Lets not forget the chassis, power wash, rust prevention and coating. A wash could take 10 min or 3 days.

You mentioned chassis. There’s dozens of models but found this gem to keep the underside salt washed away. Unlike car washes that recycle used fresh water from the house. Heated garage helps! Be good for mud as well

It's a political football that has enriched far to many over the years, and you're correct. It's about to get deadly serious out. Water is more political than gold and precious metals. The states wage war against each other but it's congress who has the ultimate say. It's a subject I'm not as well versed on as I once was.

I have a car wash monthly membership and use it as often as I want. I've come out of it in the rain and don't give a shit.
