Im at the age where time and patience are not options I’m interested in and while my dealer seems to feel genuinely bad they didn’t offer anything besides their next allocation. I suppose my other option is to look at something besides Toyota.

Oh dear. I went that route before... waited two months and decided to take matters into my own hands.
Some dealers get stock constantly. Search online. SmartPath Toyota dealers.

Partially paid for mine whilst in transit. Arrived within days ahead of time. Was waiting to clear my check for the balance.

They even tried to sell it to another buyer behind my back. Probably wiling to pay above MRSP

Unless, you see proof. I would take it with a grain of salt.

    Cheers

Was this dealership charging over MSRP? Do you think they might have taken more cash for it and it really wasn't damaged?

Last year there were a lot of vehicles damaged on rails also with all the rain out west. I remember the pics and stories on this website. It was right after I got mine.

Unless this was an isolated incident seems fishy to me. Maybe contact Toyota corporate and ask them what they can do.

Well my 4Runner has been in "F" Status for 9 days now. The dealer said it should be pickup up by a semi truck on June 2nd but my guess is that didn't happen because it has not changed to "G" or "GT" status as of tonight. Anyone else get any update or actually get your new 4Runner?

The one I had reserved updated yesterday morning to G status. Got delivered same day. I had found another so not buying it. It is still updating though. Just slow.

I am wondering if "G" status is only when it is actually delivered. There has been several different theory's out there. Thanks for your update and I hope you love your new 4Runner!

Ours is scheduled to hit port(Long Beach) on Monday…….really interested what the codes actually represent, ‘A’ now.

My 4Runner hit the Portland port around 5/14, flipped to G status the morning of 6/2, delivered to my dealer the evening of 6/2 (a few hours away), and FINALLY delivered to me on 6/3, 6 months after I placed a deposit.

Where do you find the status? My salesman said mine should arrive to dealer between the 8th and 10th

I found the method on Tundras .com.
    Requires a Windows computer.
    Search for
“Track your Tundra at the Factory”

My ORP was on the same ship docking in Portland 5-14-22. Refresh my memory, where are you located? I went from "A" to "F" on May 25th and expected to go to "G" sometime on June 2nd if "G" was really ground transportation. I'm in Boise and it's less than 500 miles from Portland. I do understand that the truck could have to stop at some dealerships on the way to Boise and was told it could take a week to make it to me... but I am still in "F" status.

You have to know your VIN #... not a temporary vin number.
In the web page below replace YOUR VIN NUMBER with your 4Runners vin number.

    https://guest.dealer.toyota.com/v-spec/YOUR VIN NUMBER/detail

The you right click the page and a small window will pop up and then go to " Inspect " then another window will pop up and you need to select "Network" and then go to your key board and hit CTRL and the letter R
That window will refresh and then look for your vin number and check that box and a bunch of stuff will come up and you will see Dealer status.

My dealer was in Oregon a few hours from Portland. It did flip from F to G once it completed processing and was loaded on the truck for delivery to the dealership.

Thanks! Good luck to you - waiting is difficult, particularly once you know you're nearing the end.

As requested, here's the pic. Took a while to get re-adjusted to something larger and more utilitarian but the road trip was a good shake down cruise. Very happy with my purchase. As requested, here's the pic:

Looks great! I'm getting a silver ORP. It's been a very strange process for sure. I have bought at 6 new vehicles in the past 30 years and never had to wait. I just went down to the dealership and drove away that day with them.
I'm actually down sizing from a 4 Door 6 1/2 foot Chevy Silverado 4x4 so it will be nice to have it be a little easier to park at the grocery store.

Hi everyone! Thought I’d update you on my fiasco. We did get to see a report and pictures from Union Pacific about my vehicle being damaged. It was legit. I chose not to take the red one. My son started hunting one for me anywhere in Tennessee and surrounding states. He found one in Georgia at Stone Mountain Toyota that had just that day come off the truck and was not spoken for. It is a silver TRD off road premium and we said YES! My husband and son picked her up Friday and she’s a beauty I’m in love with her. They are out there. Not easy to find but not impossible either. We had many dealers tell us they could get us one but we’d go back on the wait list.I’m 73 years old and waiting just was not an option I was willing to take. Good luck to all of you that are waiting and thanks for listening to me

Great! I was hoping it was a real thing about the damaged and not some dealer getting $5000 mark up from someone else wanting it. This is real close to what I will be getting as well. Silver with these wheels plus a roof basket but no side steps. I hope you have fun it your new Toyota!

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this but my factory window sticker was created the same day, May 11th, as my 4Runner switched to “F” status. After doing a little research, I see 3 4Runners that landed late last week near me that had their window stickers created on May 5th and 6th. Hoping this means mine will arrive some time soon.

I do not see any date. Where are you seeing this? Also are you talking about the web page that we are right clicking on and then searching network etc.? like this https://guest.dealer.toyota.com/v-spec/YOUR VIN NUMBER/detail

There is a watermarked date on the factory window sticker that says “Created on ………” that is posted on my dealerships listing of my 4Runner. Most but not all dealerships have a link to the window sticker on their listings.

Many dealers don’t want to advertise MSRP……”Call for Price” seems prevalent.

Mine came off the boat in Long Beach yesterday and the status went from “A” to “F” this morning.

Correction, the ship moored Sunday midnight and I’m presuming it came off the ship yesterday.
