Mine rides great. It is a leaf sprung truck. Maybe try playing with your leaf packs. (Pull some and see if it helps.)

What's your setup up front? I'm looking for a new front leaf pack. I have a 7mge in my truck which weighs a ton, so I'm thinking I'll get the 4" trail gear springs and it'll weight them down a bit

Alright people, school is about to be in session. Can anyone give me good advice on the differences/pros/cons about 3-link compared to leaf springs?

I think out of the gate the big difference is stability and flex: links give you tons of flex out of your axles but you lose some stability whereas a leaf sprung suspension is very stable but does not flex as much. People on both sides will argue the superiority of one over the other but it all comes down to what you want your truck to do (and probably your budget)

Leafs are very simple , they've been around since the model T ford. Not saying a SAS is easy, but you can buy nearly complete kits and there is tons of info online.

I think the consensus is that links get you better flex and artuculation but is more difficult to setup correctly.

And just to confuse you more there are plenty of people who will claim their IFS setup is as strong and dependable as a SAS... it's all a matter or preferencen, budget, mechanical skill, and ultimately what you want your truck to be able to do....

ISF over SAS. Unless we're talking full custom IFS like king of the hammers rigs I'm going to say not a chance but I have seen a few IFS that were just bad ass but they are very few and far between. It's hard to beat a 14 bolt solid axle I'm sorry or the dana 80. You run either of them it's going to be reliable and easy for parts. You start building those crazy IFS set up- good luck finding a replacement CV axle for it when it breaks that's just how I look at it.

I have my 99 limited still and that's almost done. I'll be posting more pics of it as soon as I get the rest of the parts in on monday. I have to drop her new/rebuilt engine in.

So sorry just saw this. I would either recommend the all pro 4" or the ones I have which are pro comp from 4wheelparts they are stiffer but with the weight may be just what your looking for

I recommend 3" springs. 4" is pretty tall.

When you are setting the shackle tubes inside the body mount, slide the frame cutting jig as far forward as it will go inside the mount. This will allow a better shackle angle.

Personally opinion only... unless the 3.0 is off a fresh rebuild or had a 3.4 swap I would not waste the $$$$$ on it. It's not a horrible rig bit it's not a 1st gen or a 3rd or a 4th for that matter. There are just so many better options to build on than the 3.0 plate fourm. Not saying it can't be bad ass but just remember what it is in the end. Good luck to you on what ever way you go bud

Awesome. Im getting the fully loaded kit from a buddy for a deal. Im mainly getting them to do Disc brake conversion on my FJ Solid axle. Im getting the Kit and Calipers from him for cheap. Can you send me a pic of how the Disc brake set up is? From it looks like to me both sides of side are universal and you could run calipers on front or rear of the knuckle.
