Hey guys! I’m a recent purchaser of the 2020 TRD off-road premium 4runner. I’m just wondering if anyone has some suggestions on some good hid/led kits for this car and if there are any cost-effective ones out there as well. I’m currently spending quite a bit of money on the body itself to make it more off-road worthy. That’s why I would like to see if I can still get some quality lights without blowing more cash than I would like to hahaha. it may not be realistic but it’s worth a shot. I’ll appreciate any advice. Thanks!

The link shows many bulbs. The 2 that should have been best is the XV2 (had bright and dark spots) or the GTR (they had a color that hurts some peoples eyes). After way too much money work and aggravation I should have listened to Mynameistory!
In the end I went with the $10 H9 option, cheap, good light and no extra parts!

Look at the link in the post above. Better light for a lot less money. XB is not horrible but you need to run fogs all the time

Anybody else have any issues with LASFit H11 LED Headlights flickering and shutting on and off. I got resistors and it still didn’t fix it. Returned those. I can’t find a good led headlight for the 2020. I don’t want to drill into the dust covers or buy 1200 morimotos. I was also looking at osram h11 halogens that claim to be the brightest halogen on the plant , but reviews are hit or miss. I actually don’t think the stock halogens are as bad I thought. Let me know your thoughts.

I found a satisfactory solution by going to H9s in the low beams and upgrading to the Toyota OEM High Performance LED Fog Lights for the fogs. It's a solid combo. The LED fogs give very good light off to the sides, which is a weak point for the headlights, as well as maybe 30-40 feet to the front.

IMO, and according to IIHS tests, the stock high beams project extremely well straight ahead, being weak only off to the sides. That problem would be fixed by the LED fogs -- if only the truck would let you run the fogs and high beams at the same time.

Holding out hope that the OEM LED headlights that will come stock on the 2021 4Rs will work great and Toyota will sell them as a plug and play solution for the 2020 4Rs.

Morimoto elite hid is a great kit imho and is what is have with the oem led fogs. No worries drilling the covers...takes 10 seconds with a step bit. Very simple.

I ended up going with the Xenon Depot HID kit with philips 4800 K bulbs paired with the Xenon Depot LED Highbeams with the DRL driver. Very happy with this set up.

Another vote here for an H9 bulb; I removed my XD HID kit in favor of the H9 Phillips Standard bulb.

That reminds me.... I was able to do a mod on my tacoma to keep my fogs on with the highbeams.
