So my wife drove the 4Runner into the side of the garage. Luckily she only hit the driver side mirror and nothing broke. However, there is a black plastic cover on the underside of the mirror that fell off. It looks like it just snaps in but would require pulling the mirror apart in order to make it fit.

Has anyone had the need to take apart their mirror, and if so what is the best way to put this piece back?

This is the part that fell out.

There is a video on replaceing the lights under the mirrior with LED. They remove the back, that might be the info you need on how to reassemble.

I tried that, it still requires some more room. I will try to get pictures up. It's been snowing all week.

Thanks that might help me. I was only able to find one video that shows it and not in very good detail.
