Hey all. I just bought a new 2024 4Runner SR5 Premium Underground in color. I need a honest recommendation for upgrade, namely what size wheels and tires (brands are appreciated), what inch lift (I don’t want to go crazy at all - just a little more rugged for light overlanding and remote fishing) and exhaust. I really don’t want to have some big trucked out rig. Just a good upgrade that is more timeless if that makes any sense. And I don’t want to black out the rims either. Can someone help me out?

Look online for "modified 4Runners" or something like that and duplicate the one you like the best.

Welcome. Go with a 17" wheel as you will have more tire options. The TRD Bronze wheels or Gunmetal would look great against the Underground color. SCS and FN Wheels also make some nice wheels. If you're just doing overlanding and no heavy offroading, then stay at the stock height until your OEM shocks wear out.

Interesting. Any tire or exhaust recommendations? I’ll still have some highway miles. And exhaust? Mangaflow? I’m taking any suggestions! Thanks!

My recommendation is to drive for some time while you decide how you plan to use it and then, and only then, make modifications as needed to make it purpose built.

I understand that some among us like to change the look right away but I humbly disagree with that approach as it will waste resources (money) that you could use for items that make it more appropriate for how you want to use it…

That said, it’s your ride and your money so do what you like….

    Cheers,
    Bob
