I am new to the forum but not to owning a 4-Runner. I bought my first 4-Runner in 1996. It was a 1996 4-Runner Limited. I am sad to say the car was killed a few weeks ago. It had over 440K miles on it and I put all but 11 of them. Car ran like a charm, no major problems. I kept up routine maintenance, good tires and pampering. Everything still worked well. Due to it's longevity, I decided I wanted another 4-Runner to replace it but was in no hurry due to COVID19 and Quarantining. Well just about a week ago, my brother offered me his 2005 4-Runner Sports Edition. He bought himself a new truck and decided to let the 4-Runner go. It has a mere 139K miles on it. It is in excellent condition mechanically and physically!!! It even has new tires on it! I am in heaven!
There is just one thing - I have fallen in love with Satellite Radio and am hoping to get a new radio put in that also has Apple Play. Can any of you suggest which receiver is compatible with my 2005 dash? Please & Thank You...

Welcome from Austin!! I guess in 300k miles you’ll be ready for a 5th gen!? Just a suggestion, if you’re familiar with utilizing Bluetooth, you could eliminate the satellite radio cost for a free streaming service. Anyways, not trying to change your funk but may also be something that interest you.

if you need help or suggestions for a head unit, I would absolutely talk with Crutchfield. They have customer services that’s unmatched!!

    good luck and again, welcome!!

Welcome! I hope you enjoy the newer one as much as the older one!

My first 4Runner was a 96. I traded it with 190k because I was young and dumb enough to think it was about to start falling apart:facepalm:

Excuse my ignorance, as I am neither an audiophile or a techie...too old for that. If I have Pandora on my iPhone, which I do, and my phone is synced to my 4R, you're saying I can play that through my head unit?

I told you I'm ignorant about these things...

No worries, electronics certainly isn’t my strong point. You should be able to play pandora through the head unit, using apply play or android auto (possibly Bluetooth). I’ve heard stories from the entune from earlier models, I have a 2020 and I imagine your 19 is vary similar so plug the phone in, switch head unit to “car play” and crank them tunes!!
