    Hi All,

My name is Drew, I am head of marketing and sales for upTOP Overland. I am a long time Toyota enthusiast, and TacomaWorld member. I wanted to join 4runners.com so I can better assist our 4Runner brethren better!

Myself, Micah and a few other very dedicated team members work very hard to make upTOP the absolute best it can be! We are based in Castle Rock, Colorado and have the rocky mountains to used and abuse our products to ensure they are the best they can be for you.

I drive a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road where pretty much only the engine, frame and cab remain 'stock' LOL.

    Welcome to the forum, Drew!
As it happens, I am in the market for a solution to mount a DIY rack (I need special side rails) to my roof...
Can I get some info on your mounting setup for the Alpha? I'm assuming that one is wider at the front, following the outside edge, right? I do like the look!

Not sure I am tracking? Our racks is 50" wide, internally and 95.375" long. It does not taper at any point if that is what you are asking?

The 5th gen 4Runner's roof is slightly wider at the front than it is at the rear- some full racks are the exact same width at both ends, which can give them an odd, not-quite-made-for-this-vehicle look especially if they compensate by making the front narrow.
Yours didn't look narrow, and it also mounts further forward than any other aftermarket rack I've seen so I suppose I was wondering how your rack accounts for the trapezoidal roof?

we use a wider foot in the rear that overhangs a slight bit further. I will try to get a few detailed pics up in a bit so you can see the look a little bit better
