    HiFolks,

New member, I'm currently not a 4runner owner, I have lexus ISF which I plan on selling or trading in for a TRD Off Road, I just can't decide if I should get a 2021 or wait for the 6th gen to come out next year.

it intrigues me how undecided and uninformed are some folks when it comes to spending so much money on a vehicle.
well, person from toronto, here is a quick breakdown:
first ask yourself if this vehicle is right for you, why do you want it, what do you want to do with it
    6th gen:
    - it will eventually come, we don't know much about it
    - it will have better fuel economy than the 5th gen
    - you can't have it now or in the immediate future
    5th gen:
    - one of the most reliable vehicles you can buy now, proven history
    - very capable offroad, they are all the same at the mall
    - you get old tech, 5 speed trany, not a rocket, old V6 that likes to suck gas, so think about that traffic on the 401
    - you can have it in 1-2 months, if you want a limited, most dealers have one
    - you get old tech ( i know, i know, twice), but that nice big screen has poor resolution, lagging response time, non intuitive design - would have been nice in 2012
    - you will drive it forever

PS: every time i go back to toronto and see that zoo/ratrace, i get pissed off and tell myself: this is why i left this god forsaken jungle. note: i used to live downtown TO.

It amazes me how ignorant your response was, what makes you think I didn't know about everything you listed?

    Thanks person from outside Toronto!

LOL, if you know all the above, then why ask in the first place ?
2 weeks for a reply, what happened, got stuck on the 401 ?
So, what have you decided? 6th gen or not? Any other purchases we need to make a decision on all together?

Welcome from Wisconsin! We have a '20 OffRoad, this is our 1st 4Runner, had a Tacoma before. If it were me I would get the 2021, for the fact it has been "battle proven" over several years. Usually when there is a change (like the gen.6 coming up) I tend to see what problems the new version is encountering before we buy. We made the decision to order a new 2014 Silverado in 2013, this when Chevy changed the Silverado. When we got it, the first week we owned it there were 4 recalls of some type. So now we don't rush in to buy "new gens", that's just how we do it.
