Purchased my first 4Runner over the summer and am in love!! 2004 Limited w/ V8. She has 200,000 miles but purrs like a kitten. Had Timing belt, Water Pump, etc. replaced immediately after purchase. Suspension in the Spring :)

    Hello Mike

Im new here as well. How do you like your v8 4runner? We want to overland and pull a camper, how does it tow? We are looking at the v6 and v8 4runners, Tacomas, Tundras, first gen sequoias. Not sure which one. Any advice?

Hi Ty! Love the V8. I've only towed a RZR SXS and a few snowmobiles but the extra torque make a big difference. I also have an 2007 FJ Cruiser TRD with the 4.0 V6 that I've towed with and the V8 is way smoother and makes it's power at a lower RPM so less shifts. The 4.0 couldn't seem to find the right gear especially on the hills in the White Mountains. I also average about 17-18 MPG with the V8 which isn't too shabby
