2023 SR5 Premium has the heated steering wheel. It does not stay on when restarting. (I think).

I'm currently working with my local Toyota dealer to get a quote on adding heated steering wheel to my 22 TRD Pro... From what I've learned I'll need a new steering wheel, harness, and module so I'm guessing it'll be expensive... Once I hear back I'll post again and let everyone know the cost and items required..

That would be cool to have an actual quote on it.
But more important is figure out all the parts needed. That may be a not that hard DIY project.
Whatever information on it would be much appreciated.

Hey there. Any response from the dealer yet on the cost of the retrofit? Thanks!

For those with the heated steering wheel, is it heated at 9 and 3 or heated all around the wheel?

I had a rental 2023 4Runner with heated steering wheel for almost two weeks. I felt the heat level was too low. I could tell it was heated but so slightly I wouldn’t pay extra for that feature personally.

I’ll have to go “test” drive one. I wonder if it’s adjustable via a Carly ODB2?

I've been looking to do this for a while now. Been looking at other Toyota models to see if they have a heated wheel with the same style as the 4Runner. I figured I could tap into the heated mirror/defroster circuit or even the windshield wiper defroster. Hard part would be running the wires like the clock spring. I hear the clock spring itself isn't something to mess with.

I have a 2022 ORP and it does not have a heated steering wheel button there or anywhere else I've looked.

On the '23 ORP it's about 2" under the engine start/stop button.

2014 Neglected by the previous owners 2020 is an abused former rental... 2023 New I've been buying above my pay grade ☹️
What about using the Toyota Techstream software to activate some of those features? On my 2020 Off-Road, I was able to select options like holding the open button and rolling the windows down.

Some of these features are also now being app driven so that they can hit you for $15 a month or whatever.

My 23ORP has heated seats and steering wheel standard. What's coming into this area (Southern California) seems to all have moonroofs and that multi-terrain camera monitor stuff too.

The most popular colors for the ORP around here seem to be in this order: Lunar rock, magnetic gray, super ice cap white. I really wanted silver but could only track down one and the dealer must have known because they wanted $5,000 more (with less options but a "dealer adjustment fee") than I am paying for my white one that I pick up tomorrow.

All of them seem to have the heated element stuff. Also, everyone I've seen lately has the Dunlop tires on them. I read the reviews, horrible wet traction. And while I'm in Southern California, one of the niños (El or La) is going to lead to heavier than usual rain. I am tempted to buy some Bridgestone takeoffs and put mine up for sale.

I do love a heated wheel, but when it is time for use I un~ass out of here. Last year I cussed and moaned all the way up until thanksgiving before I headed out. Jump in push brake pedal, push start button. Grab wheel (son of a biach) still wondering how did it when was young.

Here in AZ, every single car gets free heated steering wheel… in the summer months unfortunately

What I read as well. I had my tires replaced with wild peaks and sold the dunlops with 57 miles on them.

Yeah I just gave my dunflops to my brother today with 7,000 miles. Never got to experience them in rain, but hold on to your ass in hard pack snow. I’ll be taking the rig down to Az. Here shortly. Won’t need heated wheel, or butt warmers for that matter.

Keep the runner in Az. The TJ in Colo.

I was getting some work done on my 4Runner today and asked about the part number for the heated steering wheel switch. 1) it's not currently available so check back in a few months and 2) $160.

So anyone wanting to try this might need a different plan for a switch.

That's cool. Can you actually buy another cover to sew on? Great mod. I would have started by buying a 2023 wheel, which would have been $$.
