There may or may not be a thread about this already; the quick check I did showed none.

As stated in another post I made, I am very much considering a 5th Gen 4R. I’m researching lighting and think that the Morimoto RetroQuik projectors with LED bulbs is worth the cheddar, though I’ve never baked headlights before. Has anyone gotten and installed these? Does the OEM projector really suck that bad even if you put expensive HID or LED bulbs in it? Anyone have pics that show you the light pattern in the RetroQuik projectors vs OEM with better bulbs?

    Thanks!

I replaced my projectors with a set of Lexus IS250 HID projectors. The stock 4Runner projectors aren't that good if you're used to HID projectors.

Also... if The Retrofit Source sells it and it's Morimoto, I would trust it to be better than stock.

Did you just do a bulb swap or the entire headlight housing?

You have to replace the projectors inside the headlight housing since the stock projectors are made for halogen bulbs. The IS250 projectors are made for HID’s and also work as your brights too.
