The generational changes to the powertrain are a revelation. It never holds back a shift, never runs out of breath when you need to pass or merge, no more fear of entering….the left lane. Cruise is intuitive, shifts near invisible.

This 2.4T operates at low stress, low rpm, turbo spools light psi. That’s also your first sign of potential long-term reliability, btw.

I walked into the dealership last Saturday just to look and see what they looked liked and they had a new Underground TRD OR Premium so I bought it. This is what I've done to it so far (before/after).

Really love the new 6th gen but a few things made me not want to buy.

    1) No more V6.
    2) Back seats go down differently than the 5th gen, and you'll lose about 3-4" in leg room for truck camping.

I'm not a fan of the new back seats either.

What is it you don't like about the turbo 4?

After seeing the OTT tune guys post some dyno numbers, the turbo 4 is going to be WAY better for heavy loads and towing and the TFL daily guys on YT doing the Ike Gauntlet at max payload with one basically running the same speed and time as a Dodge ram 3500 loaded down isnt bad at all. I know my tundra and 4R dont have near the torque curve of that new Turbo4. The tiny turbo obviously spools up and is at full boost by 2300rpm, thats nuts really. It makes peak torque at like 2200-2300rpm which is where you are when driving so a kick-down pass while pulling a trailer should feel like a rocket compared to a 4th or 5th gen with a 1GR-FE. Honestly the numbers for the new turbo 4 look very 4.0 + TRD Supercharger'ish which is an absolute animal at doing everything you asked it to do.
I dont however like the idea of tiny turbo on a daily driver, its going to be so stinking hot and create so much Intake Air temps. Not a big fan at all....

I believe it makes peak torque at 1700 RPM's.

I definitely understand the concern about heat. But, it's not really being pushed that hard, so I'm not too worried about it, personally.

I have owned one for about a month now. It's a SR5 - 4WD. The gas tank is too small compared to the old 23 gallon one. It feels very light. The electronic steering feels so light and make it easy. It also comes with smaller tires. Not sure why!

Kinda think i saw that one at work recently. Was wondering if it had wheel spacers on it from how the tires are outside the fender flares.
