Spend a lot of time over on the FJC forums, but I figured I should make an account here too since I own two 4Runners and zero FJC's anymore.

Been a Toyota owner since my first car, 2009 Toyota Tacoma in Forrest Green, then a 2014 Tacoma in white. I've lived in Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Florida, California, and currently stationed in Japan. My wife had a 2007 FJC in Voodoo blue when we lived in Oregon, which we both loved, so I decided I would trade my Taco in for a 2012 FJC back in 2015. The FJ was the best rig I had ever owned, it infected me with the offroading disease, took me on dozens of trails including the Rubicon. Now I daily a 2000 Hilux Surf here in Japan (I'll post a build thread for it, it's my hobby rig), and my wife has a 2018 4Runner.

The 4Runner has always been the rig my wife wanted as her "mom mobile", she does have good taste in some things... we looked for a long time, never found the right one. Then came the Cavalry Blue year, we both drooled over it, but couldn't find a dealer who didn't want 55k+ tax. I convinced her it wasn't the right time. She didn't know I had put a deposit on one across the line in Oregon from a dealer who wanted not a dime more than MSRP. Six months later we drove her Dodge Charger up, and drove this back home. Havn't regretted it a bit.

Mods will have to wait till we get home in a few years, for the time being I am working on the Hilux and scouring for a good deal on a new FJ Cruiser for myself. The 4Runner is probably going to be very lightly modded, probably raise the back a bit to carry extra weight, roof rack (victory half rack), discrete sliders, skid plates, rear control arms, she wants it to look largely stock.

Bonus picture of my old FJ in the hills outside Fallon, NV.

Looking forward to passing time with ya'll.

Welcome and Thank You for your Service! As you know these trucks are addicting along with all the cool activities they enable you to do. My first Yota was 79' Corolla given to me by my Sister, who was the 3rd owner lol. It was very much like a Sloth, valves clattering the whole way, but it got you there lol. I own three 4Runners as we speak. I think I have a problem.......

    Welcome from Nebraska.
You have had & have some nice rigs!
My introduction (in 2000 maybe) was in the form of a one owner '87 turbo targa Supra.
I went into business & needed trucks.
Now that I am older & married we got a T4R.
I have owned & driven a lot of vehicles. For SUV'S (that aren't over $100k) this is my favorite. It isn't fast but, reliable and capable win this.
    Again, welcome.

I saw a '97 4runner an hour ago on utube with 500,000 miles

Another doctor had 400,000 tripping on his OD, was the original owner - and was blown away!
