To see what the curb weight of the truck is and it is 4750 pounds.

now interesting thing off to the side of the screen, we have examples that are for sale.

What do we think about these prices? I bought the truck new 6-7 months ago for 43k +++

I should have sold my 22 and bought a 24 for 46k the end of last year.

Even though I only had 25k miles, my company reimbursement requires my vehicle to be less than 8 years old. Would have bought me an additional 2 years. Dragged my feet too long on the decision.

Prices have gone up significantly since the 6th gen pricing was released, but Carmax prices are higher than everywhere else because it's a glorified BHPH dealer network with in house financing, and a lot of people go there when they cannot get financing with traditional lenders like banks and credit unions.

I saw a 2024 SR5 at a dealer last weekend. Just a few over 20k miles on it, it's priced at $48k. The nearby dealer had a 2024 TRD Pro a couple of weeks ago... at $62k.

    Nuts.

In my area 6th gen TRD Sport out number SR5s 4:1, seems like Toyota is selectively producing and herding the buyers to buy the TRD Sport/Sport Premiums which are almost always over 52k. Pros are now closing in on 80k after options so the prices you listed are "bargains" now.

Crazy prices on used gen 5 ORP's here in the Detroit area as well. My 23 has only 6500 miles on it and is like new. $55,000 anyone?

All things are relative, I suppose. When a used year-old model costs more than I paid for mind brand-new, I think it's a little nuts.

I know, I know... supply and demand, "what the market will bear," etc.

What’s crazy though, is even though the car’s value as gone up, the value of the gen 6 also went up 10k so it would almost be even swap

The first 4 years my 2019 4Runner held its value and went up, i think i can sill sell it for what i bought it for 6 years later and 100k.

My 4Runner is doing better then my 401k.

Remember 2022 when the market cratered ~33%? Your 401k will come back later and then some just like it always has.

If your 401k hasn't doubled like SP500 since 2019 even now, you need to immediately revisit your investment choices. Your 4runner realistically lost 1/4 of its value due to inflation.

I did use the double quotes, it's what it is. Right now there seems to be sufficient number of people busying signing up for loans on 52k-60k "TRD Sport" and sharing them on social media as their "muh first 4Runner" purchase and bragging about " 4runner sTeAlTh WeAlTh!"

I understood your intent -- no offense taken nor given, man. All good!

Social media stealth wealth? Now that's pretty funny. :D

Indeed. I can't remember how it got started but a while back a few youtubers started making content about it when the J200 LC got canceled and people started looking around for substitutes and 4Runners got into the spotlight as the not-LC substitute for LC.

Meanwhile people who have bee buying Toyotas for a while are like "where the F has everyone been, the 4Runner has always been known to be a bit pricey and yuppy-ish".

I can trade my 24 Pro tomorrow for 3k above MSRP on a Power Wagon. Very strongly considering it. Have the deal in writing.

Why would you want to go from reliable to that junk?

200lbs combined of dog weight/space makes the 4Runner tough to road trip in. Working Golden and a giant Pyrenees. With the two of them in the 4R - there's no room for anything else - and we don't even have kids.

Oddly enough due to the soft springs it uses to aid offroading and articulation, Powerwagons have notoriously low payload rating for a 3/4 ton pickup

    https://www.ramtrucks.com/content/d...hure/my25_Ram_HD_Customer_TowPayChart_2.1.pdf

For MY25 it's 1570 lbs. More than 4Runners for sure but not by too much.

    Power wagons are nice
Front lockers,4.10 gears, sway bar disconnect, factory winch. Probably can fit 37” tires without fuss
