glove box won't open

2004 4runner daily driver

have never locked the glove box, have never needed to. Then one day it just wouldn't open...almost like something is jammed in there. So for giggles, I tried the key. It turns about half way but won't lock/unlock. But it feels like it's locked. Any way to get the glove box out of there without breaking everything?
