Hey guys and gals...I'm Michael from Layton, UT. I'm a former owner of two 4Runners, and currently waiting for the release of the 2017, due to the changes they've incorporated into it. I'm a huge outdoor explorer, love camping and hiking in Southern Utah. I'm currently building an overland expedition trailer, and when finished, I may not come home lol. I'm a retired Army Apache mechanic, and now I'm a small business owner (hellishdesigns.com), doing landscape photography, rapid prototyping with my 3D printers, and web/graphic design. When I'm not hiking or working, I'm racing drones and doing search and rescue, agriculture, and commercial inspection work with my drones. I've got big plans for modifications to my soon-to-have 4Runner, so I'm glad I found y'all!

 

Thanks Yeah, when I hear retired people say they're bored in retirement, it makes me laugh. Unfortunately, most of my hobbies are expensive. Anyway, I was looking at this site (http://www.suvpricespecs.com/2016/01/2017-toyota-4runner-trd-pro-redesign.html) and if this info is true, I'm interested to see what redesign they do with the cab section. I don't know if current models have ability to move the seats around like in the pic, or if the grill will look like that...guess we'll see here shortly. When I planned on getting a 4Runner again (used to own a 2008), I hit Pinterest and collected everything I wanted to do. Probably the biggest ones are a rear swing gate for the spare and jerry cans, a full roof rack, light bar, snorkel, lift kit, modular drawer design in the cargo area...ect. I just started welding up the frame on the overland trailer, hoping to have it all done by the time I get my 4Runner.

 

hmm...I don't know about that site, they are talking about a 5.3 V8 option for the pro, isn't that a chebby motor? Anyway I just don't see a V8 in these unless it's done aftermarket.

I wouldn't trust that site at all. Pictures are from all over the place. That bumper is from a 2013 SEMA 4runner Oakley truck (Heavly Modifiyed to look stock). Yeah 5.3 is a Chevy/hummer Motor.




I would wait for a more reputable site to post something... Like Toyota.com or 4runners.com(cause we dont fuck around ) Lol

Only change in 2017 is the Trail Edition going away and being renamed TRD Offroad. No changes for the PRO's outside of the new Cement color option.

 

yeah that's why I stated that I wasn't sure if it was true or not. Thanks for the information though.

I'm hoping they come out with that limited color Inferno again.

Hello. I'm in the same boat as you. Just talked to my local Toyota dealer today and they told me that the TRD pro would NOT be available this year like the Tacoma last year but I'm still waiting and keeping my fingers crossed. Otherwise will have to wait.
