I think Yotaholic is probably a Jeep executive, pretending he has a 4runner, using this chat to drum up Jeep sales. LOL! Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess...

Seriously, they are super desperate right now. If a homeless goes inside the dealership, he'll come out with a Gladiator.

I like them but the removable roof is dumb and a waste of money. Do you ever see one driving around with the top off? Just give it a normal cab and charge less. They make much more sense for serious off-roading than a Tacoma or 4Runner. So much more capable stock and the ability to easily put a lift and huge tires on it.

If they are heavily discounting them new and they’re still not selling, what do you think is going to happen to resale value? If you can get a lease with favorable terms, then it might be worth it. Especially, because Jeep is overestimating the residual values.

I have seen so many with the doors and top off on the trail. It's very easy to remove them

I will agree with you on the resale value, Gladiator is not a Wrangler

But you never know, this simple 3.6L will be no more, that should help the resale value. Our 4.0L is gone, Pentastar is now the dinosaur,

I wonder if that feature is driven by age. For example, I’m in my sixties, and the effort and inconvenience would make that a non-selling point for me. If I bought one, I’d probably never remove the doors or top. In my thirties, maybe a different story. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a seasoned citizen behind the wheel of a Gladiator or a Wrangler.

Or you could throw them in the bed but there's a chance of damaging them. I think you provides you a cover for storing them

That's why I am not buying a Gladiator, I'm buying a GX. I like comfort more than fun at this age

Gladiator can be a super fun vehicle if you're in your 30s and have a couple of kids

If I’m right about the age thing, that may be part of their problem selling them.

Wrangler and Gladiator have some compromises done to them. The body is narrow because they want the tires stick out, they have to pass the safety regulations so the structure leaves less space inside, and the front solid axle can be a pain in the butt, like literally. Hats off to those engineers who despite all these regulations are still making these Jeeps. So they are not for everyone. But if any of you want a fun vehicle and can live with their limitations, then grab this opportunity

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Your right about that. Jeep owners find very creative ways to bastard-ize their rides. Like this one:

I guess I just never got the whole door/roof removal thing. I had my first gen for 22 years and never took the roof off. The idea of being hot or cold or wet or 2 of those simultaneously just never struck me as fun. I didn't see the up side. And even with the doors and roof on, the old ones still leaked like a sieve. Just not for me...

It is doable it takes some time. But if you have the cash, there are some really fancy aftermarket ones available,
