I have a 2020 stock trd off road and I have noticed that the gas pedal vibrates when going low speeds when turning? Any ideas

I created an account just to reply to your post, I have been trying to find forums to see if anybody is having the same issue. I have been noticing the same vibration you mentioned and only when turning but it’s not happening during the full cycle of turning, only certain parts. It’s like the gas pedal is vibrating or a grinding/rubbing feeling. It only happens when my truck has been driven for a bit. It doesn’t happen when I first start driving. Do you have KDSS? I have KDSS on my truck, not sure if that makes a difference

I have a 2020 TRD ORP. Mine does the same thing, I had the dealership look at it, said it's normal. The feeling feels like a pulsating/grinding/rubbing sensation. I scoured the interwebs looking for more info on it.

Of course the dealer would say it’s normal when they can’t find the cause lol

I kinda believe them... I test drive 2 other ones on the lot, all had the same sensation in the gas pedal.

I had this before and sprayed WD40 where the steering rod goes through the firewall and that fixed it, but this time I don’t think that is the case. Glad you brought it to the dealer to confirm it’s not a major issue and that you noticed it on two other rigs. Thanks for the insight.

Is it only when turning or just light gas peddle press? Mine does it all the time when going slow and easy on the gas.

To me it’s normal, car drives fine and nothing has broken yet so I’m going to keep driving it. Recently had it inspected at my tire shop before a long trip too and they said everything was in tact. My guess it’s the low RPMS and speed that makes the engine vibrate more than usual.

i have a brand new 21 off road base and it looks to me like the gas peadal is electronic? no mechanical linkage? and scotty kilmer found an issue with these things air fuel mixture programing which causes a strange idle most likely related to the eco programing. i believe this gas pedal vibration is voltage related? to me it feels like electrical resistance ever changing and adjusting?

I have been feeling this on my Limited from time to time and was wondering about it.... It seems to only happen when the weather is mild ~60's/70's and like others have said after driven for a little bit....especially if I have been driving around town let it sit for 30 mins and then drive somewhere else. Its just really odd that it doesn't do it on a regular basis.

2015 SR5, lifted with Bilstein 5100's and OME rear springs. I've got over 119K miles and this just started happening to me today. I've never noticed it before I went out this afternoon after the truck had sat for a few days. It was in the 20's today so I first thought it was just cold, but it happened all day at various speeds. Nothing major or alarming, just an intermittent & otherwise un-noticed vibration / slight grinding feel at the gas peddle...

Potentiometer could be failing, but doubtful. You'd notice other issues as well like variable speed and rpms. Since there is nothing to "break" like older cars that ran linkage or cables to the fueling system, I'd confident its a nothing-burger. Remember that these are solely run by the computer and pedal modulation can happen even when you may not feel its an issue. Turning could be indicative of ABS and modulation as much as anything else.

Bringing this thread back alive hoping someone can help…

I have a 2023 TRD Off Road Premium with the same issue: weird vibration/stringy/grinding feeling on the gas pedal when turning the steering wheel slightly to the left or right, when parked or in motion.

Wondering how the folks above resolved this issue. Or are you guys just living with it…?

    Appreciate the help. Thanks

Hmm. I can’t imagine that there are any electrical properties of the gas pedal that would cause it to vibrate. Maybe look for something that may be causing the firewall to vibrate, as the pedal is screwed to the firewall.
