I got an answer to my question "What does the Rastafarian switch control? and curious what size step bit you used to cut the hole for it."

Reply from the seller "@HornedOwl Haha that switch controls the bumper mounted lights. I believe my buddy took a Dremel to that. It’s one of the few mods on this truck that I wasn’t responsible for."

Not saying this is the case with this rig, it probably isn't, but with enough money you can build what ever kind of CO you want. There is a $265 option (per shock) to check in the 2.5 tab. You could have it configured for the T4R set up. It really doesn't have to say IBP to have the internals built into it.

Those a universal fit big shock with dual springs, and it says 8-18” travel is required for IBP. That’s not a vehicle specific shock. I’ve never seen or heard of being able to get a 4Runner King setup with internal bypasses. Sure you could custom build a suspension and weld in your own mounting points etc, but there is zero chance that guy has internal bypass kings on his 4Runner.

The rear bumper is a Victory 4X4 Strike. Not a bad choice, with two swing outs. It doesn’t say if the rear backup camera was relocated. The winch is top of the line.

Yea like I said, I doubt this is the case on this rig. I just hit him up on that one, we'll see what he says. Isn't the standard King OEM stroke 6"? If it is an 8" stroke with the OEM top cap and lower mounting points, there is a big time waste of unused travel and money. If he put that in there to fluff the suspension, he should rewrite it on the auction page. People will call him out on it. Edit: I was curious and couldn't remember, so I jacked my truck up and with ext travel, they are right at 6".

I think it’s the spacers but something about that setup just looks a little off.l regarding its stance

I defend buying Pro 4 runners all the time. Im pretty sure if you wanted to do all these mods and get the special color you could have done all this and had it painted voodoo blue for cheaper.

I’m surprised to see that the King rear shocks have no covers on them. Even the stock OR shocks have a cover to keep the stem clean. Is that a big deal?

Yeah, I wonder why someone building a rig with seemingly no expense spared wouldn’t have picked out a good wheel with correct offset instead of using spacers. I guess he liked the original wheels.

I agree that the fun comes from building it up myself. I would pay for the SC, but the rest would be done by my own hand.

Agreed. I had to replace my rear stems when I rebuilt the Kings on my 5th gen LE. AWD even on pavement constantly kicks up debris into the rears. They were beyond help, and tried to smooth them out with some emory. I was able to reuse the front COs. So now I have some Pro Comp boots sliced down their length and just zip tied them on. Works great, and I just cut em off every couple months, then polish the chrome and wash out the boots. A couple 2 cent zip ties and I'm back in business.

Factory shocks mount the the other direction, the body is on bottom and the shaft is on top those are easy to correct. When it’s a big bodied shock, especially with a remote mounted reservoir the body is mounted on top and the shaft on the bottom. With the haft on bottom it’s hard to use a cover that protects it but doesn’t trap water and debris. It is a big deal in the sense that the rocks can get flung up and nick the shaft. Most performance shocks end up leaking from tiny damage to the shaft tearing up the internal seals of the shock.

King makes a shin guard that can be installed to some of their bottom rod ends. I use Bullet Proof Fabrication rock guards for my Kings. In typical Rago fashion you can also pay extra to get knock off copies of the BPF guards from them.

Somewhere in my adventure thread there’s pics of the BPF ones.

The boots do trap garbage in there, so my solution is a little more maintenance and extremely ugly lol. But it's been working. I went cheap because I had just spent money on rebuild kits and was still hurting from the fortune I spent on the 4th gen. Damn 4Runners love my wallet.

The 2.5 IFP ELKAS I just installed have boots on them. Seemed like a good idea. Of course, boots can get damaged, especially from snow and ice where I live In Canada.

These are pretty durable for a back up if and when that happens. Lot's of pretty colors, but I went with black, because you know driving dirty is just dirty. They're cheaper on the am-zon of course, but I'm not really a fan of conglomerates these days.

Buyer pays 5% fee, so around $2500 @ 50k as well, could get expensive!! This is strange because I know someone who bought a TRD PRO, same color all fitted out (rack, winch, lights, front bumper, wheels etc), practically brand new, also from Montana. There is no sales tax in Montana, maybe this is why we see them coming out of Montana. If the buyer keeps the registration in Montana, they never pay sales tax.

Here in Canada, you’re given 15 days to register your vehicle at a your current address. The 5% seems like a standard fee for brokering a deal.

I guess T4R ownership should come with sensitivity training now days. SMDH.
@Bob I guess you might as well do a preemptive strike on this thread before we piss somebody off. It's kind of run it's course anyway.
