    *************UPDATE****************

I got my hands on an FJ door sun visor and this mod is not a direct bolt in. The 4 Runner used two small clips that push into the door frame to attach the grab handle. The FJ uses two machine screws.

In addition, the end covers on the 4 Runner grab handle are an integral part in expanding the spring clips once inserted into the door frame.

So, even if I could find a threaded plastic nut/ insert can be pushed into the door frame where the metal clip goes, there would be no trim cover over the screws.

I'm gonna keep looking to see if I can do this with OEM parts and have it look factory.

    More to come.......

    Hello all,

I saw some information over on the 2 Gen Tacoma forum about adding the above pictured FJ Cruiser side sun visors underneath the upper door grab handles.
I believe this mod was for the rear doors on the Tacoma due to air bags.

However, since my 2016 Runner has a grab handle over each door I was thinking of adding one over each. I was wondering if anyone had done the same and could you confirm if this is a direct bolt in. This would be for a 2016 SR5 Runner, but I assume they are all the same. Comments, concerns??

You know that your sun visor is on a pivot and can cover the side window if you pull on it? So you don't need the extra part.

True, but in certain situations it'd be nice to both. Back passenger seats have nothing, so a big plus there if i can get them to work.
