Thank you for the information and the review. I was hoping that Discount Tire would give me something for the Falkens in trade, as they only have a few thousand miles on them, but seeing as the Wildpeak AT/3 is now discontinued (at DT), I'm not sure if they will...

It's still a popular tire, I'm sure you'd have no trouble quickly selling them yourself on marketplace.

The Nitto Nomad Grappler is in the same class as the AT Trail and Trail Terrain. It looks like a baby Recon Grappler and is available up to 265/70/17 if I recall correctly.

At least this thread has the decency not to ask a general "what do you recommend" question, and is specific to the Wildpeak tire. Doesn't mean we won't get 50 different recommendations, though...

Might be worth taking it to the dealer on the rubbing. Talked to a service tech today that made it sound like if you have a stock-size tire that’s rubbing on your Toyota-approved rims, your warranty might cover a TRD-pro fender trim

    I really like my 34" E load A/T4W.

The tires are fairly quiet. Wear is slow and even. Dry pavement traction is great and wet road traction is fantastic.

The weight of these things comes from the thick sidewall. I've aired them down to 11 psi (no bead locks) and never came close to debeading.
If you wheel often, these are tires to consider specifically for that sidewall.

If you don't wheel, and you're more concerned with fuel mileage and performance, you may want to look for lightweight options.

Im confused ,I read through this thread and when i look up the weight of the falken wildpeak at4 compared to the new bridgestone deuler at ascent tire 265 /70/ 17 s the Ascents weigh 46,2lbs and the Falkens same size standard load weigh 47.6 . acording to my math thats a less than 2 lb diference and the falken has a 65,000 tread life waranty compared to the ascents 60,000.

The SL Ascents only weigh 39lbs according to Tire Rack. I think you're comparing E load Ascents to SL Wildpeaks

Good tires , a little noise vs. the stock Dunlops (but performance is well worth it), perhaps a little worse gas mileage.

Doing it again, I might have gotten something a little milder like Yokohama Geolanders, but we're talking about marginal differences this way or that. Not worth losing sleep over.

Not sure I'd get LT BFGs for on road use, talk about overkill.

Contrary to my earlier plans to go with Michelin next go round, one of my Falken AT3s got a nail in it for the 4th time, and needed replacement; I went with a new set of Falken Wildpeak AT4. Stock size SL load. Apparently the slightly louder road noise was worth it for the performance and aggressive look.

The OP never came back to report which tire he went with. Another loose thread.

I chose Pirelli Scorpion AT+ XL and 3 peak.
Seems same noise as stock Bridgstone Duller All Season. Weight 42lbs for stock size. Very smooth and quiet. Tread wear very even.
Half century ago my first Pirelli were on my Austin Healy.

I have the Wildpeaks. They are smooth during my daily drives on pavement as well as off road. The Wildpeaks have way more grip than the stock Bridgestones too so you'll be able to put more power down on pavement without skidding.
