I usually blow off extended warranty offers because I figure that I probably won’t keep the vehicle that long and they wouldn’t offer warranty’s if it wasn’t more profitable for them and less for me. However, I have a couple weeks before I pick up a TRD off Road with KDSS so I am considering it, (yes the KDSS is covered). I also plan on keeping it for a long time and using it for mild off road. Perhaps the peace of mind is worth something even if it doesn’t pay for itself?

Anyway, this one seems decent. Basically 10 years, 100,000 Miles for $2,500. The mileage and years can adjust up and down a bit for modest price changes but that’s the ballpark figure. The advertisement reads like a carefully worded bumper to bumper and 99.7% of submitted claims are paid.

Personal opinions on extended warranties is that they are bullshit. I had an extended warranty on my 2011 Tacoma back in the day and my headunit shit the bed. Toyota said that component wasn't covered so i was out of luck. On top of that because I was stationed in Puerto Rico, the warranty didn't apply due to it being a different region than where I bought the vehicle.

Save yourself the cash, the 4Runner is bulletproof for the most part.

I used to sell cars in a major dealership. Don’t get it. It’s bs. I can’t discuss further.
