Recently while sitting idling the truck shudders like it missed fired, check engine light comes on, 'Trac control off' comes on, and then the engine throttle goes into a safety mode of no power when you step on gas crawling along at best. first time it happened error code 2111, i looked at throttle body and noticed a carbon like dirt ring keeping the throttle plate open a hair. cleaned it off and the code and lights all returned to normal without resetting, brought to dealer for evaluation, advised no codes in history and nothing wrong. 2 weeks later same issue crawl mode in the middle of intersection after sitting at a traffic light very dangerous safety issue. this time nothing on the walls of the throttle body. any thought or history on this ?

Actually, there is some truth to a rodent possibly being the cause. There is something about the wire insulation chemistry that attracts rodents. There have been other posts about this. A good preventative measure is a light spray of peppermint oil in the engine area (not on hot components) that will act as a repellant. In any event, you will have to get your truck fixed, and based on the diagnosis if it is a wiring problem that something chewed through the wires, peppermint oil is a good preventive measure.

This P2111 DTC has cropped up occasionally in posts in the other T4R.org forum. Try searching there for P2111.

Other than cleaning, the fix has been replacing the throttle body and/or ECM.
