Today we start our trip from Alaska to NY. I will use this thread to document trip ups/downs and cool places.

Following as I would love to make this trip from NY to AK someday!

Are you tenting it the whole way?

I’d be interested in amount of hours and miles, and where you stop on the way if it’s not to much.

Tent two - hotel one. Wife and twins (6y) need a break once and a while. I will post stops after I have completed them. Seems we are getting a super late start today. Got bit with trailer registration.

We had some issues getting out of eagle River and didn't land too far away. We are in an outstanding campground; Tolsona Wilderness camp.

I recommend this place for sure.

Fuel mileage so far has been between 17 in the hills and 20 in less hills. We didn't really depart until 1300.

Pictures once I get to some wifi or decent service.

    Took a break in Tok.

    Vehicle milage states 18.4
    Pump milage calculates to 19.5
    137 miles 7 gal.

    I will say 19.

haha I legit saw a tailgate spraypainted TOYOTA in West Philly a few weeks back. I couldn't take a pic at the time, but I may make a special trip out there to find it.

Stopped in destruction bay in hopes of campground, but it was an open parking lot with rv hookups. This was next to a motel .. so I stayed in the motel.

Encountered lots of construction on the way and the roads were terrible.

We stopped for food at Buckshot Betty's which was outstanding and I recommend for anyone else. The restaurant here in destruction bay doesn't look promising.

    Fuel mileage was 20.5.

    Unable to upload photos.

Errm it's probably too late since you're ON the trip but you have a Milepost book, right? That's the only way to drive to or from Alaska. Literally has every business and every attraction chronicled, free camping listed, etc. Mine from 2016 is getting reused for our upcoming trip and is so dog eared it stands up on its own.

Jealous! I've gone from Utah to Alaska and back 5 times now and I'm planning on a 6th next year. can't wait to see more pics! Wave at the Northern Rockies Lodge in Muncho Lake for me, that's my favorite stop on the trip.

Setup camp for the night. Teslin Lake Government campground is better than the spots in the village. We backtracked about 8 miles for better diggs.

Short trip through the woods to the lake.

    Lair River

Found a spot you can stop and camp but it was not timed right for us. I will camp here in the future on another trip.

We did end up staying in a lodge that we ate at 3 years ago. They have a sauna and the owner is a cool old guy who runs people around in his plane for guided tours.

We will be coming back here for an anniversary in the future.

Before this stop we did some sight seeing around the Rockies. This is a great stretch of highway.

    Northern Rockies lodge.

Love that place. I've made it a point to stop there on every trip I've done.
