I went with the C59-314 springs in front. Without the bumper, winch and 2nd battery I was almost at 4". I will have to measure it again to see how much it has settled down with all that weight added now. Like Roland, I am very happy with the setup and recommend talking to Mike at Exit Offroad.

Lift should be going on Friday, going to be driving across the country so should settle nicely.

Are you going to add a bumper/winch, or stock weight? In case of stock weight, mine didn't settle or sag at all, almost 4K miles with it on all kinds of terrain.

Congrats & show some pictures when on. I'm sure, you will be pleased.

I have a buddy that has a full King suspension lift with UCA & diff-drop (more or less same lift height) about 4.5 times the price, he drove my 4runner and I drove his. We compared shocks, both brands are machined & rebuildable.

Our test: Btw. We have the same tires, makes it easier to compare.

The only difference, I thought his rig taking tight corners was better, more direct and articulated, as well, high speed on a bumpy road his rig was easer to control, in my opinion. Hence, I’m talking minor differences, I could not feel that up to 85 Mph only above this speed his setup felt more forgiving.

He said he could not feel the difference in tight corners, only on high-speed bumpy roads, he could feel the difference in stability (Kings are better). Actually the entire setup is what makes that difference at 4.5 times the price. Off-Road the Dobinsons suspension is smoother, and I think shines; (for sure rock-crawling).

I did take it off road, thought it performed great, I went with Dobinsons UCAs as well. No serious Rock crawling yet.

Great, how much lift do you have? I'm back in Moab in fall, you should meet up.

Might be wrong, I think they are 285/70/17 If I look at wheel wells looks pretty much the same as my lift with 285's.

Your truck looks great. What tires did you have on before your KO2's? Were they stock size?

Thank you, the tires before 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers stock with the TRD Pro wheels when I purchased the 4R, changed to the KO 2's 285/70/17 when I had 11700 miles.

The truck looked pretty good with them on too. Looks like the Nittos might run a little bigger than my 265/70r17 KO2's.

Great looking build! Dobinson Direct’s website doesn’t mention delivery times. With everyone backed up as they are these days, how long did it take you to get the Dobinsons after you ordered?

IMOP, The KO 2's are better than the Nitto's, just me, opinions might differ.

Same IMS shocks as you, but I got C59-300 front springs (1.75 - 2 inch) and C59-505 1.5 inch rear springs. I'm hoping the 1.5 inch rear isn't too much for my stock size KO2's. But I'm wanting to keep some rake. If the rear lift actually ends up being 1.5" I think I'll be OK.

I have 2.7" F & 1.7" R no spacers around 4000 miles with it, still the same height, mine didn't settle like some members say. I still have some rake. The nice thing about these shocks if you don't like the rake, you can adjust them a bit more (0-3.5"), will give you some more lift in the front. I think I posted some pictures with the 265's and with the 285's you can see the difference. Congrats, post some pictures.

New b at lifting here so this thread has been really helpful. So how does one go about adjusting these Dobinsons? Are they fairly easily adjusted? I’ve read that some other brands require removal and spring compression, etc? Doesn’t sound like much of a DIY for me!

"require removal and spring compression" Yes, this is correct; you need to readjust the locking rings to bring the coil seat lower or higher. With most other brands as well.

Got it.Thanks. So, Best to get the desired “pre-set” lift correct with the best match factory settings part # and go from there.
It also sounds like getting the Dobinson UCA, while not required w the lower lifts, tends to provide a better ride and better chance for good alignments?

I got it right the first time, put 285's shoes on, got an alignment done, no rubbing no problems on/off-road.

With the stock UCA's I did some heavy off-roading (rocks, ledges) etc., no problems, no rubbing. Checked afterwards everything in spec. Some members will agree and others not so much, highly debatable.

I figured in case checking after my trip and everything is still in spec, I keep the OEM UCA's for more than one reason, their maintenance free, and the less you mess with the geometry the better, otherwise you keep on adding and adding, I never heard any complaints about the OEM UCA's. If out of spec because of the UCA's, I can always change them for aftermarket. Just my 2c.

    I respect everyone's opinion.

Thanks, Roland. That’s helpful. I’m running 275 KO2’s so with a less than 3” lift on the front, OEM UCA’s should be good.

These are actually 265/70/17 so stock size KO2s. Going to go up in size when these are done.

Even worse is "I leveled my truck with 2" front, 1" rear".

    Yeah that's a LIFT.
