    Hi everyone,
What is the best brand for a differential drop when you lift your 4runner? I’m doing a 3in suspension. I wanna know what’s a good brand or if I have to put?

Any works, I initially opted out but after my 3 inch lift my CV angles were pretty ugly, so I had the diff drop installed and now they’re not all crooked! At 3 inches I highly recommend a diff drop if you want your CVs to last a while.

@Mtbpsych did it come with a spacer for your skid plate as well? I saw a YouTube video that came with it. What brand are you using for your differential drop kit?

You don’t need a spacer for the skid plate, the diff is behind the plate. And I’m not sure what brand it is, it’s whatever the shop had they threw on. All it is is a thick washer essentially.

@Mtbpsych Thank you. For your help. I have a different question. Would you prefer a cv axle brace as well?

Never heard of a axle drop bracket. All you’ll need for a 3” lift is upper control arms and a diff drop for the front.

Diff drop is pointless at 3"

Probably UCAs not needed either though 3" is getting close

Some people like spending that money tho

3" right on the line of needing them... I personally wouldn't install them until you see if you can get decent alignment numbers without them. Actually I'd only go to 2.5" just to be safe but an extra .5" probably won't be the deal breaker... had 3 5th gens now, none have needed UCAs at 2.5"...

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone get good alignment numbers on stock UCAs at full 3 inches of lift:notsure: And the stock UCAs also will not last when lifted that high and going off road. Aftermarket UCAs are much sturdier and higher quality. To each his own though, what works, works:cheers:

That’s what i figured that I wouldn’t need a diff drop bracket if I’m only going 3in lift. I’ve mostly seen it on 4runners if it’s higher than a 4in.
