So I have a 1990 second gen 4 runner I’m want to know if there is a alternative to helping the overheating problem on the 3.0 like maybe a thicker gasket or something like that.. or should I just swap it?? I’m thinking 1jz or 5vz... anyone have input on this subject?? Any advice will be highly appreciated.. thanks

I had all kinds of trouble with overheating. Water Wetter helped some, as did an aftermarket aluminum radiator, but I eventually fried the motor (at 220k) and put in a 5VZE, which has never gotten hot at all.
