Here's my daughter's '98 3.4L 4WD Auto. She bought it this morning. I am new to 4Runners, but not to Toyotas. Hopefully, I will learn a lot from the wealth of knowledge found throughout this site.

My Wife and I had a '98 Ltd. It served us well for many years.

Thanks! Not even 24 hours of ownership, she is already talking lift, bigger tires, and taking it on the beach for some shore fishing. She's trying to figure out how to customize a rack for two kayaks and a few fishing poles.

Yeah man. She has it in her mind to keep it for a long time. She and her sister basically grew up in my Tacoma ('01 ExtraCab 4wd). Plus, they like the older Toyotas from the 80s and 90s. The newest they like is around 2010. So having to have a brand new truck straight from the dealer isn't something they really care about. Her older sister drives an '04 Tacoma.

It's pretty clean. A few surface scratches and a worn interior, but nothing horrible. Her boyfriend has a small detailing business on the side, so he'll make it look even cleaner. The most important thing is that it runs great, everything works, and there's no rust.

Nice rig. My friend wheels a 96 and it does great.
