Nice man! I’m loving mine. No issues so far. Always good to have ordered from Amazon and have the extended warranty for piece of mind vs alibaba.

just noticed you’re in STL - I grew up in West County.

Hope you enjoy the Dasaita! Hit me up if you have any install or customization questions. Can try to help if ive run into it before

Didn’t change anything on the instrument cluster for me. Still have the ability to click through all data points.

I’ll get one. I can’t get the back up camera to work. I’ve tried all combinations with the yellow plug all I get is a yellow triangle.

That was the only issue I ran into too. There are 2 yellows - a front cam and a rear cam. I accidentally wired to the front camera first. Tested before I put it all together and swapped it for the other yellow camera so it would pop up for reverse.

May add a front camera at a later date but didn’t have a need

It’s coming straight down from the clock area.

Check the 54:40ish minute mark of the T9 install. It’s the xm to the factory radio and doesn’t install into the Dasaita. I don’t use XM radio but I’m told android devices just download the xm app.

I finally figured out my issues I think. I got the back-up camera to work(had the harness plugged in the wrong spot some how). The wire I didn’t know about is actually the GPS antenna wire that I needed to hook up so I didn’t need to run an external one. I found post on the other site that had links to the adapters to use the factory antenna.
I did find a fairly recent install video that went pretty in-depth that had a update file on it that I used. My main issue now is the USB AUX won’t play my iPod anymore. I know the port works as I used it to upload the update file. Music just sits there and the other screens just have yellow triangles

Hmmm you’re saying it won’t play if you use the USB? Does it show charging on your phone?

    Yep just won’t play.
I figured out that AVIN means AV In that it’s looking for a video source that’s not there and of course TV was the other.

Are you trying to play the music in a specific app? Or is that just the main screen that pops up when you plug in your iPod

not trying to sound stupid, sorry, I’m just always in CarPlay or an app like YouTube from the play store.

you can also email Dasaita, I did it through the Amazon email support page from your order

It’s a Apple v Google issue. It will recognize a USB drive but not my iPod or iPhone when plugged in.

Interesting - hadn’t used android auto before, had no clue that was a thing.

I would assume, since it’s essentially just an android tablet headunit, that you could download Apple Music and have your iPod songs on there or iPod play through there?

I’m mainly a Spotify or pandora guy so don’t have any iPod test experience, sorry man

First of all I want to say thanks for posting and sharing with us … I’ve been contemplating on purchasing and switching to this unit myself … just haven’t done it yet … Very interested about it’s capabilities of displaying engine data along with TPMS; so please keep us posted on that add-on … Also, Could you load apps like YouTube TV ?

    YouTube came preinstalled.
I am starting to explore the TPMS and Engine stuff now. I have Carista and it sees it but I haven't figured out how to get it connected.

Do you know if this would work in a 2021 trail edition? It’s says 2019 but I’m not sure if there’s any differences?

I haven’t used Carista but I know most of the car trim people (android tablet just like this) use Torque app and then a Bluetooth obd2 plug in to connect.

will probably be trying out in a month or two just to see the vehicle stats

Different wiring in the back of the 2020 and 2021’s. Wouldn’t be plug and play.

curious if they or cartrim will do one for the 2020+ 4runners as they come with the CarPlay and android auto that people usually move to these units for

One of the units I saw on Amazon said for 2020, to order unit HA2179SH-MAX10-CP. I wonder if this one would work for 2021?

2020 and 2021 have the same headunits and wiring as far as I know. If you want to move away from the stock headunit, I would just message Dasaita to confirm it would work

someone will likely want to buy your 2021 head unit and figure out how to wire it to a 2019 and below if you do so
