I haven’t seen a thread like this yet but was thinking people can post their tire/wheel spacer sizes so others (like myself) can get an idea for what works and what doesn’t without have to do trimming and without any lift kit.

For context, I’m looking to put on wheel spacers on my 4Runner SR5 but I have no clue what will or won’t rub. I currently have 265/70R17 tires and stock TRD wheels. I don’t have the resources to do any trimming or to add a lift kit myself. I was thinking about 2 inch spacers but I’m afraid they’re going to rub and I barely see anyone saying they use 2 inch spacers. I’d also like to keep this tire size. If 2 inch spacers don’t work what size will with this tire size?

Thoughts please, or if there’s already a thread like this please share!

For every inch of spacer you are adding 25.4 mm of negative offset. Using 2" spacers is 50.8 mm of negative offset!

Even with your 265/70/17 tires, you'll likely rub the mud guard on the front, the lower front wheel well possibly the body mount. Two inch spacers will also cause premature ball joint and front end component wear.

Go ahead and google wheel spacers @ 4Runner forums and you'll find plenty of threads about spacers. FYI, doing a lift does not negate the increased arc the wheel/tire makes or the relationship of interference i.e. body mount.

    Hey OP,
1.25" spacers are common and are probably as big as you should go. But certainly people run 2" spacers and even negative offset wheels at the same time, for a super wide stance. But, those people certainly wear out a number of front end parts.
I run 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers in black aluminum.
And I have 0 offset wheels (9" wide though).
I rubbed all sorts of sh*t. And I have a lift.
Even with stock, positive offset wheels (+4-+15mm), 100% you're rubbing and chopping. But you can't chop. Don't do 2"

Do I clear body mounts if I do an 8" lift!? Haha

I have a similar question. Been surfing around the forum and haven't seen anyone with the stock ORP wheels with a 1.25” spacer mention rubbing or not. I traded my Tacoma last weekend and had spacers on it. Took them off before I traded the truck and turns out, they are the same part number.

Since I have these sitting here, I’d like to put them on but it’s brand new and would prefer not cut anything on it just yet.

Anyone with a stock ORP add a 1.25” spacer and experience rubbing or not?

this gentleman has a similar setup, but +5mm offset wheel as opposed to your +15mm.
Do you have a lift, or aftermarket UCA's?

Nope, just picked it up a few days ago. Completely stock as of now. I do plan to lift it but that’ll be later on. Just had these from my Taco and figured why not…..but wasn’t sure how much it would rub. I may go ahead and install them this week and just check full lock to see if or where it rubs.

I maybe trimmed 3/8 to a 1/2 inch from the front bumper overhang. Can't see it at all. And I had 10 mm more "poke" offset if reading right. Took like 5 minutes. Easy job. I am totally stock also. Orig tires at 10k even

Just want to add this tidbit of knowledge. Spacers and shims are two different things. Never use shims! That is all :)
