    roof tent incoming
Hi all. I just took possession of my oldest, best friend's 2006 Limited -- formerly her family's second car. It has been difficult for me making the switch from Hondas (two Element eCampers, two CRVs, one Passport) but 4Runners seem to be the Ride of Choice in greater Bend OR.

I'm putting on a CVT St. Helen's rooftop tent and want to install Apple CarPlay. Will probably upgrade the current tires for a more rugged, winter-appropriate option. On the Element I have been running BF Goodrich A/Ts for 3 seasons and Toyo Observes for winter Cascades driving. I can't "take them with me" so give me your best ideas for four season rugged tires for this 2006 Limited. I may adjourn to the tires forum soon.

    Many thanks!

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Welcome from just a little south of you, in K. Falls area!
You got yourself a quality truck there :D
I've got an 87 4Runner, that has a decent set of BFG ATA's on it, and it runs the snow and ice pretty well. Carefully, but it does pretty well in the winter.
We just got us a 99 4Runner, since the 87's cabin fuse block caught fire, and it'll be in the shop for a while. We weren't going to go without a good truck for the winter, let me tell you that! We just put a new set of Toyo AT3 tires on it for next winter. They look, whatever that's worth, like they have a great tread design for running the snow next winter. We'll see, won't we :)

Chances are, we're going to sell (yeah, I'm a cheap SOB :notsure: ) my pickup to my middle daughter. She learned to drive a manual trans in it, heck, she learned to drive in general in it, and now, she wants to teach her sons to drive in it. Talk about longevity!

Have fun, and feel free to ask anything you might need to. We all started out not knowing anything about these trucks.
    Pat☺
