engine swap from 3.0 to 3.4
    Hello everyone .
I purchased a 1989 3.0 5spd runner a year or so ago . I had always liked the first gen runners because of their simplicity and the removable top . I saw this one on Craigslist one day with very little info in ad but sense it was close to home decided to check it out . Found it to be a box stock one family truck with 170k miles on her . Owner was asking 2k and I jumped on it . When I actually went to pay and tranfer title the owner sheepishly suggested I only pay $1500 as he was relatively sure the motor would need head gasket at the least or total rebuild soon although I was informed he knew of no issues with the truck at the time . ; )
While day dreaming about one of these first gen runners I had read up on the 3.4 conversion and intended to do this mod from the start . Ended up being quite the adventure due mostly to my inexperience with swaps in general and limited experience as a mechanic ...... but I made it this far and a year later she's up and running , just trying to iron out a couple of bugs hence my joining your site here .
Hopefully I will be able to help out with other members questions or concerns about this type of situation and also get some feed back about a couple of problems I have left to work out . I will post in the general forums for this .
Glad to find you folks here helping one another out . Should be a great deal for all . : )

Welcome. I wanted a project runner before I bought my 4th gen, but situations changed and I needed something more reliable.
