I'll be picking up a 97 4Runner in a couple of days. The previous owner says the valve cover gaskets need to be changed. How hard is this? Is there a writeup on the forum for that? Thanks.

This is the guide I'm going to go by (I have to do mine, too): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IThNiZcs4bI

    [EDIT: Assuming you've got a V6 3.4]

Did it today, using that video I posted as a rough guide. Passenger's side is pretty easy; driver's side is a PITA because of the harness. But totally doable. Be prepared to go buy new vac hoses, most of my 2000 vintage hoses are cracked.

Not hard, be patient, did my 3.4 V6 on my 2001 Tacoma. Be careful of the plastic wire harness guards they get brittle over time and are easy to snap the mounting tabs.
