Has any one changed the SR5 side panel badges to the TRD pro badges.
I have upgraded my 2017 SR5 with TRD rims and I am going to change the skid plate.
If you have any photos that would be great.
    My SR5 is white.

    Thanks,

I think your best bet would be to find someone with a Pro that can provide you with measurements for proper placement. Don’t forget the Pro on the back to complete the look.

I would just remove the badges and call it good. Why are you trying to change what model you have to another? I always remove all badges on all my vehicles, it’s just easier to wax and I think it looks cleaner.

Maybe he wants to make it look like a pro so some dealer will offer him 52k trade in before they realize their mistake.

Not dogging this idea mate, but when the dealer pulls up the VIN, it still comes up as an SR5... In addition, I don't know about anyone else, but when I see a Pro in a car park, i'm looking for signs, like the Fox suspension, etc... Man, just be happy with what you have, either remove the badges or leave it alone. Don't re-badge, that's for the Honda Civic guys... (you know, the old Si badge). <sigh>

    Cheers,

    Sean

Ok, Thanks for all the responses.
This was just a question if anyone has done this.
I will just remove and not install the TRD badge.
I decided to keep it clean.

I had a '99 SVT Ford F-150 Lightning which I bought new in '99. Over the years, I saw many lightning wanabe's that changed badges and ground effects trying to be something they were not.
Was kinda funny when I, in my REAL lightning would pull up beside them. They would not look at me.

Good decision. I too say keep SR5 badges as is but add front and rear lockers and surprise everyone on trails. I bet you know there are few options like E-ton elockers or ARB air lockers. There are OEM style switches so your dash will look OEM. I'm a big fan of keeping mine stock but add functionality discretely.

Last year I took a quote to add a front e-locker and the cost was about $1500, I haven't pull the trigger yet. Yes, the e-lockers are cheap and only catch is if your roll back hard there is a chance of disengage (as per the shop) and you would have to engage again if it disengage.

All I say is forget the looks, try to keep factory looks and focus on functionality.

Don’t understand why a locking rear diff isn’t offered on the SR5. It’s like a 600 dollar option on other trucks.

There is considerable overlap between all the model ranges, so it’s not like one is vastly superior to another off road do it doesn’t make sense to make a comparison between a rental car mustang and a performance race car.

Toyota also has a nasty habit of spreading features out across model lines.

With a rear locker and a lift, an SR5 will perform the same as any of the other models off road.

Unlike Mustang in 4Runner world its exact same vehicle with minor features added to other trims.

I have a 2013 Trail, it came without any badging from the factory.

I don’t understand what the obsession is with model trims and TRD, when you can install a high end lift yourself on any of the models available.

Mine is a simple SR5 which I am quite content with. It will do whatever I need it to do, as I no longer get into any serious off roading anymore. If I DO get the urge though, I'll just use my 3rd gen.
As LandCruiser said, I can always upgrade the SR5 if I decide to. Don't have any payments, so any extra cash will be available if needed at a later date to do so....life is good!

In my books TRD Pro is nothing big. Same as TRD Offroad / Trail with little better shocks. BTW, I'm going to check wheel alignment in about 1 hour for my brandnew TRDPro. I'm getting really bad MPG. My lifted TRD ORP was giving me better mpg. I think TRD Pro "maybe" getting some of these stuff at the regional port and may not be in the same quality as factory in Japan. Not sure, will see if it will improve after alignment done (or not).
