Considering ceramic tinting the front windshield but I’ve read reports of problems with mobile phone reception, interference with in-windshield sensors, etc. so I’m not interested in creating unintended problems for myself.

If you’ve tinted your windshield with ceramic, I’m curious to hear about your experience, good or bad.

    TIA

I have ceramic tint all around including windshield on one car and haven’t had any issues.

Mine is a 2019, so no TSS sensors on mine. All of my glass is ceramic coated, and I have had no issues.

I don't know about ceramic tint but I have done 3M crystalline tint on 2 of my vehicle windshields and very happy with 3M crystalline. It cost me $300 for just the 4runner windshield.
However the 2 4runners i have right now don't have any tint on the windshields. Just like to have the best visibility for night driving since I like I driving in forest roads and easy trails.

I hear you re the night vis with tinted windshield. It’s another hesitation point for me when it comes to tinting the windshield. Thanks for the reminder.

You can get an 70 or 80% ceramic tint for your windshield. It isn’t dark but offers the same heat rejection and glare reduction properties. Plus you don’t run the risk of giving the po-po a reason to stop you.

Thanks for the suggestion. If I proceed I plan to get the least darkening shade possible for the windshield but that still cuts glare and UV by a meaningful amount.
My aging eyes are the limiting factor with too-dark-tint at night.

The 4R lives in New Mexico where the po-po aren’t too bad re tint.

I have 3m Crystalline all around including windshield. Never had any cell phone reception issue. Some have gone as dark as 30-50% on their windshield. I didn't want to risk the citations so I went with the lightest shade. Still great UV protection, heat rejection and visibility hasn't changed (at least for me).
