Cat Shields. Yay or Nay?

Hi Jake. I've been running with the MillerCat version for some time, and it is fine. I do, however, like how your version leaves access to the middle of the driveline for service purposes. I know that your cat shield is already priced pretty reasonably, but do you ever offer any discount codes at all?

Thanks for the response. I think I will place an order anyway, they still are a good price even without a sale. Do these now come with longer bolts than those that were a problem early on for the two cross braces?

No problem! But yes we fixed all issues early/middle of last year!

 

^The rear cats are unmonitored (downstream of the O2 sensors). Removing them don't cause a check engine light, but may leave a raspy exhaust note. If your state has a visual inspection as part of smog testing or has a safety inspection that checks for it, then deleting the cats will cause your truck to fail inspection and you won't be able to renew your plates.

 

^The thread's topic is for cat shields i.e. theft protection. If you leave hollowed out cats in place, a methhead won't know the difference and still take a sawzall to your truck, potentially causing all kinds of collateral damage to the O2 sensor wiring, transmission lines and wiring.
