I have a Canon Sx450 that I'm just learning to use. A lot of what I photo is my sons soccer team. Using 'sport mode", I've gotten some pretty killer action shots that are very clear during the day. Our games have been at night lately and I cannot get a good shot for anything at night, with stadium lighting. The players, especially faces, are really blurry. I've fiddled with the shutter, aperature, and ISO, but really...I have no clue what I'm doing. Any tips on settings/modes would be appreciated.

I believe so... it does not have option to change lenses...if that's what ya mean. I'm VERY new to anything other than point & shoot/phone cameras. still learning all the terms

I haven’t got any night shots with my Rebel. About the same price with two lenses. Pics do seem dark, doesn’t gather light like it should.

I have found a trick to produce better color. By downloading to a Zip drive. Putting on the TV. Then take a pic with the cellphone...lol

I know this thread is old. But the answer might be useful to someone.

That camera has aperture between f3.5 to f6.6 and a focal length of 24mm to 1008mm. ISO is maxed at 1600 and the shutter goes from 1s to 1/4000 of a second. Unfortunately, it looks like this camera is automatic only which is a huge bummer. If you could control it, you might get close with a combination of exposure and handling technique. However, it's probably not ever going to be sharp in the dark unless you have a tripod and stationary subject.

The blur is caused by a slow shutter and not enough light for a decent exposure given your conditions-night would be a better mode but that's probably not going to work either because fast action requires faster shutter speed to freeze the action.
