Have a 2019 OR. After one winter the front and rear chrome emblems are stained from mag chloride. Tried various ways to clean them up with no luck. Colorado roads are no friend to chrome. Wondering if the forum thought that Toyota's Part Number: PT9488918002 (black emblem overlays) would be a good solution to covering the chrome emblems stained by mag chloride? Thinking the emblem material would be more resistant and clean up easier, but would appreciate any thoughts / advice from those who know.

    Thanks.

For those with the overlays. Are they durable enough to be powder coated?

I bought the overlays and need to install them. However I’m thinking of painting the TRD red to match the front seats. I’ve seen others do this. Wondering what they used to paint the overlays?

You can powder coat plastic, but I'm guessing the overlays are to thin a material and will melt when cooking.

I guess with a UV cured type powder coating they can be but these overlays are pretty thin.
