I just ordered mice+shipping they ship with dry-ice so I get a kick out of that stuff. A rat is worth five dollars.

I have seen a bunch of Cottonmouth's in the open and glass enclosures and that sure looked like one to me.

I a not an herpetologist but that head looks CottonMouth too. I am an expert at disliking snakes though.

I don't think that any snakes actually chase people, but that Black Mamba is fast, very fast indeed and faster than most people can run. I am in Vietnam now a travel a lot and .... in East & South Africa that snake if super feared. Vietnam has some nasty snakes here too.

The Inland Taipan and the Australian Brown Snake are really bad to bite at you and difficult to survive their bites too. That Brown snake can be found in the suburbs and will get into your house in Australia.

Hard to survive a Black Mamba bite too.

The road we were on is called snake road. It is a migration route for cottonmouths and copperheads. On one side you have 100+ foot cliffs and this is where they hibernate. On the other side of the road are the swamps. Each year they close the road to allow for the snakes to migrate - there are hundreds of these snakes that will do the migration. Where I took the picture was about 100 feet before where they closed the road. It is still early but some snakes have started. There are a bunch of snake researchers, college students and people like me who come out to see them. My wife absolutely hates snakes, we walked about 1/2 mile up the closed road and 1/2 mile back. There were no snakes to be found so it was kind of cool to have captured that pic. As i mentioned, a snake researcher came over and identified it for me.

I made a typo on "Copperhead" ... I should have said head looks like a "CottonMouth".

I was thinking about my buddy who was bitten by a Copperhead on 2 finger tips and had a difficult time and lost most of his fatty tissue under his nails.

    Corrected the post. lol

As a guy who was hit by a car 2 times on a crosswalk, I kind of stopped caring. At least snakes aren't dumb enough to run the red light.
