Audio stopped working today

    Have the 4runner nightshade limited with the premium sound. Driving home today the audio just stopped working mid song. It's happened before and just turning the car off an back on worked to fix it. However this time, the volume knob moves but doesn't register any volume change. Spotify shows the song is playing but no sound at all. Any thoughts? I checked the audio fuse and it looks fine. I've held the volume button to reset it but still no luck.

    Help please I need my music!

    Remove the negative battery terminal for 10 mins and re connect. See if it solves this.

    Is it just Spotify? What happens if you turn on the actual radio and tune into an FM station?

    I can’t be of help here to solve it, but my 21 limited does this sometimes to. Mostly on startup. The only remedy is turn if car and restart. Happens about once every few months, more in the winter.

    Am/Fm, Bluetooth, none of it has audio

    I've had a similar issue a couple times now but it's only my Bluetooth that won't have sound when that one happens. I can use am/fm without issue, and the volume knob still registers. This is a bit more of an issue as I have zero audio all around.

    Sounds like a hardware glitch from the newer head units. Warranty

    Too poor to buy anything now
    I had that issue on my 2021 Taco but it would always come back on if I restarted the truck.
    After much aggravation with it, a tech savvy friend determined that it was caused by the Bluetooth of my older phone. It seems the vehicle Bluetooth was trying to accept a nonexistent call from my phone and muted the radio. I was due for a phone upgrade anyway. That solved my issue.

    Update - car has been at the service center for the last 3.5 days - finally getting "somewhere" after them being unable to diagnose the issue.

    Their most recent update - and I have a question I'd rather ask normal people than dealership people that just want my money.

    "Good morning, they did reply and unfortunately the amplifier would fall under the optional high tech and is a non covered component. I would have to order the amplifier and I won’t receive an ETA until after we order. Total investment would be $1800 for everything before any coupons. Let me know if I can get this ordered for you or if you have any questions. Thank you again and apologies for the not so good news."

    I've been looking at getting a separate amplifier and sub anyway, would that replace whatever amplifier is stock in car and I could just not worry about replacing it through the dealership?

    I would push the issue with the dealer, write a letter to the CEO.

    But i'm all for upgrading, however you should upgrade the head unit, amp and speakers.

    Contemplating it. I'm so frustrated they said the warranty doesn't cover optional high tech components. It's the stock radio setup from what I gather and can tell. (bought it used with 32k miles) It is a premium audio package though so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

    Nope, as my other response said, it's the premium audio package and the warranty doesn't cover "optional high tech components". I had my music about half way up and it just randomly stopped. They say it's the amplifier that's popping a code.

    It shouldn't make a difference being a premium package. But buying used may.

    I spent a lot of $$$$ on my upgraded stereo, so expect that if you want to do it right.
