My old boy Maximus is 13 now and after a good hard run he needs help getting into the back of the 4Runner. I was thinking of using the small few inchs that sits lower than when the seats that fold down to both level the back cargo area and provide a ramp that can pull out and push back in. Anyone do anything like this? my biggest issue I think is sourcing the correct sliders. IMG_9629.jpg

    3" Lift...thats it...for now!
Damn....was hoping to see some replies when I searched this one. I have 2 x 11 y.o labs and one always needs a lift into the back.

    Did you build this?
I tried a commercially sold dog ramp and my old Dobe wouldn't go near it. No matter what I tried with him he wouldn't set foot on the ramp. Even laid on the ground he would not step on it.

He's gone now but I'll probably need a solution in a few years when my new best friend gets older.

I’ve tried a step that plugs into the receiver hitch, I’ve tried plywood and atv ramps, I’ve tried rubber grip tape on the bumper and door sills…….

I finally gave up and now I just dead liftmy 10yr old pitbull mix Gracie Chowsers into the back. She’s about 65lbs so it’s not too bad. My younger pibble, Rosebud, can jump up fine on her own.

I have a 12 yo Bluetick Coonhound that can’t get in without help anymore. I lift her hind end to boost her up and she works the front end while I give her the boost. But I’m here for ramp ideas as I’m sure this workaround will only last for so long.

I had a similar experience. I even tried putting a line of treats on the ramp to lead her up. No dice.
