I sort of "cheaply inherited" a couple of 2nd gen 4runners and made one good one out of the two. First was a '90 that had all 4 corners crashed, slightly bent frame and a bent rear-end (with about 175k on it). Second, a '95, although with only 135k, had serious body rust issues (like, you could throw a cat through either rear quarter and one of the front fenders!). I fixed up the latter.

In my fifties and fixed up/owned/driven a LOT of cars and trucks....and I have to admit this is a pretty cool one! Really, my only complaint would be the mileage I get--around 16 with the 31's I have on it.

So Ive been trying to do some research for the remote start/keyless entry system. Did any of these systems come factory installed in the 2nd gens?...or are they all aftermarket? I've come u against a roadblock trying to figure out how to get the correct fob for it.P8280005.jpg

    Welcome!

Keyless entry wasn't a factory option on these, what you've got is certainly aftermarket.
