Alright, let's be honest; who here is considering a 6th gen?

I like the 6th gen and will give it a serious look in 2-3 years. By then we should have enough Intel for good decisions. Until then my 21 is fine.

Weird. My 4Runner tows pretty well. My V8 4th gen towed even better. Even my 2nd gen was fine for towing a fishing boat. All had plenty of off-road capability for me.

I won’t but a Limited, for a few thousand more you can get the Land Cruiser. The new Limted I saw that if rides rough, Fox shocks.

Let me pull the trigger on this 2025 4Runner TRD Off Road, iForceMax. I have 680 miles and getting 23.2 mpg. It is next to my wife's 2022 4Runner Limited.20250521_164805.jpg 20250515_202555.jpg

Having trouble adapting to the black fender flares. Would prefer color matched. Is that an option?

I think it’s like the Ford Model T you can have any color you want as long as it’s black.

I agree with you they look awful. I call them the Weather Tec add on option. Seems most manufacturers are doing something like this now and cheaping out

Some trims come with matching fender flares. I don't really love the black, either.

I think they are black so when you F them up no need for a paint match. I like them.

Maybe I´m taking this too personal but I do feel kind of betrayed/offended by Toyota considering the price I paid for my 2023 Limited 4wd and the prices I´m seeing now. The prices of the 6th gen are such a turn down for me, that´s all I think when I see one.

You're not alone. I think the price hike is one of the biggest turn-offs for a lot of us.

This is one of the reasons why I would go with the Limited. Plus as I stated before, the Limited didn't go up in price astronomically like the other trims. I've been researching and some of the MSRPs I'm seeing are maybe $3000-$4000 more than 5th gen Limited.

I've never driven a 5th gen Limited, but does it drive like a waterbed like the 5th gen ORP?

What's so frustrating about it is that they hiked up the pricing on ALL TNGA-F BOF trucks and SUVs like every single model required so much R&D alone. They all use the same powertrains, transmission, brakes, differentials, hybrid systems, etc. Wasn't the point of using the same platform across the board supposed be for cost savings? What about the Mexican manufacturing facility, wasn't that supposed to save $$$?

Wow. I assume it has stiffer suspension and also the 20" wheels make a huge difference in stability.

5th Gen Limited has a firm ride, but otherwise stable and does not wander or wobble or drift. Xreas does a good job at speed keeping it comfortable.

I'm partial to the black flares. They were standard on the Trail from 2010-2013.

V8 4th gen hands down tows better than the V6 5th gen. I’ve towed the same boat behind both. I can’t wait to see how the T24A feels towing (when/if I get a 6G). I bet it feels much better than the V6.

Those flares are much smaller and not as ridiculous looking as the 6th gen, Subarus, etc.

This is mechanical issue with your engine that was not there when it was new. Consider running aggressive chemical cleaner through intake and Valvoline Restore and Protect engine oil to see if you can resolve this without disassembly.

Engine and transmission being on parity a pickup with longer wheelbase will tow more stable and better. Physics is physics.

Cost savings is for them. If consumers pay the prices why should Toyota lower or keep prices stable?

You need to get that checked by someone who is qualified to work on it. My two 1GR's purr like kittens regular old 87. When I was in the Rockies I used 85 at altitude and no pings whatsoever there either.

Fuel system cleaner was done a few years back. No difference. It’s been pinging since I’ve had it, 50k miles when I got it. 160k on it now. All cylinders looked good when I threw a borescope in them. No obvious signs one is running worse than the rest. I’ll have to find the link and link the album.
