Alright, let's be honest; who here is considering a 6th gen?

Good luck with that. No one on the internet seems to know how to use a tape measure or is willing to share measurements.

Guilty as charged. It’s tough to make it out to the dealer and 9/10 times when I’m in the area I’m time strapped.

I do need to go back and drop off a battery for the core charge return - I’ll try to remember a tape measure.

I was mainly referring to the people that own 6th gen’s or people that review them for their job. I would like to try to rent one for a long test drive. If I do I’ll post measurements.

The top of the rear bumper is 28.5" off the ground. The rear part of the spare is 15.5" off the ground, the lowest projection of the spare (front) is 10.5" off the ground. This is for my ORP with the optional TRD wheels and a full size/same tire spare.

Just show up at the dealership with a tape measure. I did this when I was considering swapping my 5th gen for a 100 series Landcruiser.

This spare tire issue is really disconcerting. My wife just bought a Subaru Forester (that makes three in the family.) Hers is a hybrid. To make room for the battery Subaru ditched the spare. My wife often drives from socal to Flagstaff, and the thought of her driving through the desert with no spare is not appealing. I have recommended that she get a spare and jack/tools to carry in the car when she travels. I wonder if someone will come up with a hitch-mounted spare tire carrier for the Forester hybrid.

ETA: there are several generic hitch mounted spare tire carriers to choose from.

Having no spare tire is idiotic. The people designing these vehicles must never leave their home town.

The reason is EPA and CARB. Keeping up with the tightning regulatory noose is expensive.

Same reason Toyota is now mostly forced induction on larger vehicles, and Tundras and Sequoias can't get a reliable motor, and are also expensive. Have you seen prices on Sequoias lately? Yowzers.
