I'd be interested to see what TCCN says you should do to prevent this from happening all over again...good luck!

Induction heating while cooling the bushing! That’s his trick! Nice. I wonder if there’s an induction heating tool made for mechanics or something. Good luck on this, hopefully he can make it work.

If it doesn’t work, I’d personally spring for the new LCAs. Not sure if toyota sells the bushings individually, so aftermarket might be only options if you did bushings only.

In any case, make sure he signs your LCAs. :D:p

I pulled all four of mine out when mine was only about 4 months old and Never Seized the shanks. I now have 81,000 miles and 4 salt filled winters on it and am about to get an alignment. I guess I'm about to find out if that helped.

Going with OEM control arms. Not doing bushings as the labor to replace the bushings is the same to replace the control arms.

Yeah I was gunna say it sounds like they just don't want to take the time to break it free.

Thing is, they still have to get the seized bolts loose either way, in order to replace the bushings or the control arms. Unless they plan to use a sawsall and cut them off.

Yeah. Update is they’re cutting them out. He tried the heat with no success. Getting new OEM LCAs put on tomorrow

Update - heat failed, they were totally seized so they had to cut them out. Waiting for the OEM LCAs to arrive.

Whelp. I got it back. Decided to go with all OEM parts and have no regrets. Total for those damn seized bolts 1,850.

    2 OEM LCAs
2 OEM sets of caster camber bolts
    Alignment

You were spot on had to replace the front tires, plus new LCAs and an alignment. Replaced with all OEM parts 2500 for tires and LCAs

Amen. Plus he told me to bring it back every 6 months and he will move the bolts to make sure they don’t seize again and he said, no charge for that

Please let me know the outcome. TCCN told me you need to move them every 6-8 months to keep them from seizing. However if you do need new LCAs at least you got 81k miles.

Got my 2021 T4R aligned at the dealership I work at this past Friday. It's been through four rust belt winters and has 82,000 miles on the clock. As most of you know, all of the alignment cam bolts were removed when it was just 3 months old and Never Seize was applied.

So how did this preventive maintenance work out? Well, better than expected, but not perfect. One of our best Technicians worked on it and although the driver side was still pretty easily workable, the passenger side took some effort. Eventually though, he got it to move. I'd suspect that the next time I won't be quite so lucky. But at the rate I'm piling the miles on, it will probably be time for Lower Ball Joints and thus new LCA's anyway.

This video from Wanderlost Overland says that putting anti-seize on the bolts only helps the rear cam, not the front.
