    Looking to buy a 4 runner 2014 or 15.
Thinking of a trail premium model.
Anything I should look for or look out for?
Also can they be chipped or ??? to improve hywy mpg?
I will be in the hills as well, but not stump jumping.

I'm not sure if Bullydog makes tuners for 4R, but they aren't worth it, IMO. Too much of a risk vs reward. I would be wary of screwing the warranty by overriding the computer with an aftermarket flash.

You can always s/c the 4R.

Handheld tunes are fine, they legally cannot void your warranty unless they 100% prove what you installed is at fault. Some dealers sell the programmers now. This old rhetoric is very tired and incorrect.

Handheld tunes are "worth it" if they're available. Obviously a in person custom tune would benefit you better but Toyota keeps their programming under lock and key like a mormon on prom night.

I have not looked to see if there are any available for the model you are looking to buy. If they are, they're worth it.

Well I changed my mind and ordered a new 2016 Trail Premium with KDSS.
    Now the wait!
I'll want to add strong rock sliders with steps when it comes in.
Also want a strong rack up top to double as photo platform.
    Any recommendations?
